Series AED Software Verification Upgrade For Child / Paediatric
To verify the software
version your AED is running, perform the following steps.
Remove Battery Pack from the AED by pressing the orange release
button on the side of the unit (Figure 1).
Verify there is no card in the DDC slot (Figure 2).

| Figure 1
– Press the orange release button to eject the battery pack from the
AED. |
|
Figure 2
– Verify there is no data card installed in the card slot. |
Insert the Battery Pack firmly so it locks in place. This will
initiate a Battery Pack Self Test (if the test does not start, verify
you have a good 9V battery in the Battery Pack). The AED will power
itself off after the self-test.
After the Battery Pack Self Test completes, turn the AED ON by
pressing the ON/OFF button.
After the unit begins speaking, press and hold the ON/OFF button
until the AED voice prompt reports a "memory card missing" message. This
is expected.
If the AED is operating with software version 1.202 or greater, the
voice prompt will announce the software version (for example, "Version 1
2 0 4"). If no version is announced, the AED is currently running
software version 1.201. For the AED to be paediatric capable, the
software version must be 1.203 or higher.
Free Service Checks -- every two years we will call to the location where the AED is installed and do a free full service check this includes any software or protocols updates on the unit to assure you that your AED is ready to perform a rescue.
Warranty -- the Defibtech Lifeline AED has a full five-year warranty from date of purchase. In the unlikely event that the unit requires maintenance we will collect the unit and install a new replacement within one working day while the unit is serviced.
Medical Overview --
We can provide you with AED policies for your workplace or community
group also after you use the AED unit, if you require we will provide you with a free medical audit as recorded by the unit.
Review Software -- The AED records 15 minutes of
medical data internally, which can be accessed with the aid of our free software. An optional data card can be added to record both extended amounts of ECG data and audio
for a full event review.
